The Makita 5" Paddle Switch Angle Grinder with AC/DC Switch (9558HP) is engineered for performance, durability, and user comfort. Powered by a robust 7.5 AMP motor delivering 10,000 RPM, it provides fast and efficient material removal for a wide range of grinding applications.
Designed with operator comfort in mind, the 9558HP features a large, flush-mount paddle switch and a compact, 2-1/2" diameter barrel grip. Weighing only 4.6 lbs., this lightweight design helps reduce user fatigue and improves control during extended use.
For long-lasting reliability, the grinder incorporates Makita’s labyrinth construction, which seals and protects the drive gear and bearings from contamination. Additional protective measures include zig-zag varnish applied to both sides of the armature and a powder-coated field, helping shield internal components from dust and debris. Convenience and durability are further enhanced by an all ball-bearing design, metal gear housing, and thicker, tightly wound coil wires that reduce heat and energy loss.
The 9558HP also includes a push-button spindle lock for quick wheel changes and a side handle to improve stability and operator comfort. The integrated AC/DC switch provides added versatility for use with alternative power sources.
