Equipped with Makita’s SJS™ II technology, this grinder uses a mechanical gear-drive system that helps prevent motor and gear damage by reducing the force transferred to the gears when the wheel is forced to stop. The system’s leaf spring and cam gear mechanism also reduce vibration, increasing operator comfort during extended use.
Powered by a 15 AMP motor delivering 8,500 RPM, the GA7061 is engineered for demanding tasks. Its redesigned motor provides greater armature stability and features larger commutator bars for up to three times longer tool life compared to the previous model. Additional durability features include labyrinth construction that seals and protects internal components from dust and debris, along with a protective zig-zag varnish on the armature to prevent contamination. For added safety and control, the rear-handle trigger switch requires two actions to start and includes no lock-on or lock-off function. The grinder also features an AC/DC switch for use with alternative power sources.
